About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga
We are seeking a motivated and creative Support Worker to join our Community Support Service. In this role, you will design and deliver engaging activities—both one-to-one and in groups—that reflect the interests, goals, and aspirations of the people we support. You will work alongside participants to reduce barriers, increase independence, and create opportunities for volunteering, cultural participation, skill development, and pathways to employment.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate and facilitate community-based activities that promote inclusion, confidence, and personal growth.
- Work with individuals to create personalised plans based on their interests and goals.
- Support participants to strengthen social networks and actively contribute to their communities.
- Build strong relationships with local organisations, businesses, and community groups to enhance opportunities for participation.
- Ensure activities are safe, inclusive, and aligned with participants’ needs.

What you will bring | Ngā tohunga mō tēnei tūranga
- Full current NZ Driver License
- Be eligible to work in New Zealand (Minimum 12 months’ Work Visa required)
- Note we are unable to offer a job token/sponsorship for this role.
- Current First Aid Certificate (or be willing to complete at our cost)
This role involves manual handling and personal cares, so these skills would be an advantage. Our organisation has a strong commitment to safeguarding children and any employees will be vetted.

This opportunity is Monday – Friday with some flexibility required around hours. We pay up to $29.10 per hour depending on your qualifications.
