Main Role: 20 hours per week – High & Complex Needs Advisor
Salary rate for Main Role $41,000 per annum (at 20 hours per week)
Additional Support Worker Role: (if you require more hours up to 20 hours per week)
Wage rate for Support Worker hours would be between $23.50 and $29.10 per hour depending on health and wellbeing qualification level.

About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga
As a high & complex needs advisor in our Invercargill services, you will work collaboratively with the support team/s, whanau, schools and other professionals to provide support to individuals. This support enables developing practical life skills including, household tasks, meeting education/vocational needs, cultural awareness, community activities and participation, building positive relationships with whanau and peers, and everyday problem solving and coping strategies.
The High & Complex Needs Advisor seeks to create an environment in which individuals can succeed and reach their potential, while building positive relationships and promoting healthy development.
Coaching and mentoring are a big part of your role, you will have great leadership skills and know how to relate to support workers, people we support and stakeholders.
You will have knowledge of the enabling good lives principles, and an understanding of what living a good life looks like.
You will walk alongside the people you are supporting, realising it is their journey and allow them a space to grow.
This is a part time position, so days and hours will be discussed with successful applicant up to 20 hours per week.
You will also be included in the Crisis Behaviour Support on-call roster. Occasionally, work is required outside of these hours, so a degree of flexibility is required. Travel to other regions is required as part of this role.
Support Worker – if additional hours are required, we could also offer a suitable applicant up to 20 hours per week and a support worker, covering shifts as rostered.
What you will bring | Ngā tohunga mō tēnei tūranga
Experience working in disability and/or mental health services
An understanding of trauma informed support
A proactive and person centered approach to support.
Clear communication, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships and the ability to advocate and promote the voice of the supported person at professional meetings
Proficiency in report writing and using Microsoft Office
Previous experience coaching and mentoring a team
At least twelve months experience in behaviour support, or working in a disability or youth service
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
Good knowledge of the principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
To work for us you must:
Hold a current First Aid Certificate (or be willing to complete one at our cost)
Be eligible to work in New Zealand and have a valid visa with a minimum of 12 months until expiry
Hold a FULL, clean New Zealand Driver License
